Our Pine Needle Loose Leaf Tea is 8 ounces by volume, in a beautiful clear top tea tin, with a full color brochure which includes recipes.

The weight is one ounce of needles.  The price is $ 5 per tin.

In our experience it is better to store it in a tin, to retain the pine oil resins.

We also suggest to people to pair the loose leaf Pine Needle Tea with the Pine Needle hydrosol.

$30 for a pair of Lodgepole Pine Needle Tea with your choice of either:

  • a) 2 oz Lodgepole Pine Needle Hydrosol – or -
  • b) 2 oz Idaho Blue Spruce Needle Hydrosol

The suggestion of purchasing this pair, is so that you can adapt the flavor and concentration, as well as blending the both of best.

When brewing the Pine Needle Tea yourself,
  • it is recommended to crush the pine needles against the side of the pot to release the freshly enlivened Pine Needle resins to impart their oils into the tea.
  • Blending it with the fresh steamed Lodgepole Pine Needle or Idaho Blue Spruce Needle Hydrosol adds the freshness of a freshly wild harvested liquid tea concentrate, from when the needles were freshly picked from the trees.

Our fresh steam distilled Pine Needle Hydrosols are steamed by herbalist in small batches in the wild where these trees grow, to bring to you as close to the wild fresh brewed Pine Needle Tea in liquid form.

Pine Needle Oil

Lodgepole Pine Needles

There may be a good reason why many common household cleaners claim to “smell like pine.” This connection to pine oil and good health is as old as the hills, and its related to the germ-fighting, disinfectant properties of the oil.

In fact, it was greatly revered by the father of Western medicine, Hippocrates, who noted its strong healing effect on the human respiratory system. Similarly, the Native Americans used pine needles in bedding to prevent bedbugs and lice.

Pine oil, obtained by extracting essential oils from the needles of pine trees, is a strong medicinal aid. Similar to tea tree and eucalyptus oil, extracts of pine are powerful anti-septic agents. It also holds anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, insecticidal, analgesic, diuretic, aromatic and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a great oil to have in your medicine chest and cleaning cupboard.

Its disinfectant and viral-fighting capacities are related to its high levels of phenols, acidic plant chemicals that fight off germs and ward off disease. It also has a healing effect on the endocrine system, and aids the body in cleansing impurities from the skin. Pine hydrosol is an immune-stimulant and body tonic, enhancing overall mental and physical balance.
