Lodgepole Pine Needle Tea

Pine Needle Tea is an aqcuired taste.  Some people love it.  If you have never tried Pine Needle Tea, try starting with a light infusion, and refrain from pressing the pine needles on the side of the pot or cup - which brings out more of the Pine Needle Essential Oils inside.
Directions:
Place 1 teaspoon of Pine Needles in a cup of boiling hot water.
Steep for 15 minutes.
Use spoon to press the Pine Needles against the side of the cup or tea pot to release the essential oils into the water.

Note: Let the Tea steep. Do not boil with needles in the water.

Native Canadian Indians Recipe:
Place 1 teaspoon of Pine Needles in a cup of boiling hot water.
Steep for 5 minutes.
Add maple syrup to taste.

Alternate Sweetener:
Many people use Blue Agave Nectar to sweeten.

  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of grated nutmeg
  • Pinch of grated orange peel
Pour boiling hot water over this.
