The Kundalini Chakra is the second chakra and is orange. The basic principle is that energy centers start at the bottom, and the energy rises upwards, hence, Kundalini Rising occurs when the Kundalini Chakra is open, and the energy can rise upwards, assisting higher level chakras to open as well.

When lower chakras are closed, or the health in those chakras is blocked, then the energy has impaired ability to rise higher.

The Kundalini Chakra is associated with the body organs in the lower part of the abdomen. In Tai Chi, this area is called the Dan Tien. In Tai Chi, the goal is to similar, to strengthen the Dan Tien energy, which is the basis for health for the rest of the body.
